Black Shilajit (60 Vcaps)
Shilajit (pronounced shila-jeet) is categorized as a
rasayana (rejuvenative) herb in Ayurveda (the ancient, traditional
Indian medical theory which has some similarities to ancienct Chinese
Medicine). In Sanskrit (the written language of yoga), shilajit
literally means "conqueror of mountains and destroyer of all weakness,"
which is an appropriate name because shilajit strengthens the body's
glandular system, vital organs, and muscles, promoting a healthy
metabolism, heightened energy and mood, and a toned physique.
Traditionally, shilajit has been used in Ayurveda for the treatment of
diabetes, obesity, infertility, anxiety, asthma, and memory
loss/dementia.
Shilajit contains at least 85 minerals in Ionic form, as well as humic and fulvic acid. It is composed of humus and organic plant material that has been compressed by layers of rock and mixed with microbial metabolites. This humus and organic plant matter then oozes from the rocks of the Himalayas as they become warm in the summer months. It is said to carry the healing power of the great mountains from where it is sourced.
Recommended Dosage for Shilajit: 2 - 3 grams per day. High dose: 1-2 oz a day, in water or raw milk. Each Vcap contains 250 mg shilajit.
You would have to take twice the amount of BROWN shilajit to equal the potency of BLACK shilajit. According to Chinese Medicine, the color black signifies an herb's ability to strengthen kidney jing, qi, yin, and yang. Kidney qi, yin, yang, and jing are related to the function and form of your thyroid gland, reproductive organs, pituitary gland, and pancreas. The color brown does not have this same strengthening effect.
